1. Provides technical support for on-going HSES projects, problem solving, investigations including site inspections and audits, and activities;
2. Facilitates and participates in job safety analysis, process hazard analysis and pre-startup safety review teams including the driving of inherently safer technology, preference for engineering solutions and doing it right the first time’ concept.
3. Assist with the maintenance of the company’s chemical management system;
4. Organize and maintain HSES performance, compliance, policy and procedural information including electronic backup of critical information;
5. Develops and implements industry best practice systems for an effective HSES program while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, reporting, HSES statistics and trend analysis;
6. Research and keep informed of pertinent information and developments in areas such as national and local laws and regulations.
7. Involves & engages employees in developing HSES programs, processes and performance measures;
8. Monitor the completion of action items generated from Safety Helpdesk, HSES audits, inspections and incident investigations;
9. Provides on-the-floor HSES coaching and recognition;
10. Responds to & participates in the investigation of HSES incidents and participates on the Emergency Response Team
11. Actively drives performance to achieve HSES team’s goals of developing an effective HSES communication process to make HSES priorities and performance visible
12. Coaches and works with leadership to be a visible role model of incident prevention and HSES work practices
